The Mystery Behind Whitney Houston’s Passing Continues
It has barely been 24 hours since the news of Whitney Houston’s passing reached the mainstream. Since the singer and actresses’ publicist, Kristen Foster first announced her death to the Associated Press (AP) on Saturday afternoon, authorities have not yet released the cause of her death. However, there has been news of investigators finding drug tablets in Houston’s room at the Beverly Hills Hotel on the fourth floor.
It is common knowledge that, in recent years, Houston has had numerous problems with drug abuse.
Authorities are still saying that there has been “no sign of foul play” found.
An autopsy has been scheduled for sometime today, though the results will not be released until the toxicology reports are first returned.
Sources from TMZ stated that soon after Whitney Houston’s body was found, her and Bobby Brown’s 18 year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was reportedly rushed to Cedears-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles from the same hotel that her mother had occupied.
Soon after his performance Saturday night, where he reportedly broke down in several “crying fits” on stage, Bobbi Brown released a statement saying, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi Kristina. I appreciate all the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time.”
Whitney’s family also released a statement today that read, “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney. This is an unimaginable tragedy and we miss her terribly. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends. – the Houston Family.”
The Grammys was one of Whitney Houston’s favorite nights of the year. And with good reason. They held
many significant memories of triumph and perseverance for her. For her to pass of the eve of a night that seemed to be made just for her is beyond tragic. But it is also a time given to her fans to remember, appreciate and revere the milestones she achieved.
Her self-titled debut album, released in 1985, sold 25 million copies worldwide. In total, she released seven albums and three film soundtracks; a winner of six Grammys, Houston sold over 200 million albums and singles worldwide. She earned 30 Billboard Awards, 22 American Music Awards and two Emmy Awards.
The Grammy’s are currently being re-organized to create a tribute special for Whitney Houston during its airing. Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan are among the list of renowned songstresses to sing some of her most touching songs in Houston’s honor. BET is also scheduling a special airing dedicated to Houston that will air within the next 24 hours.

Amy Winehouse’s Death Continues to Shock and Jar the World
One of the most recent television interviews with Amy Winehouse before her unexpected death on Saturday, July 23, 2011. The interview was conducted by England media website, T5M.com. Unfortunantly, it would see that Winehouse could very well be possibly intoxicated during the session, a clear example of the reason authorities believed she passed away in the midst of her career’s prime.
The industry Sky News has also posted a short video special centering around the late R&B singer’s downfall on YouTube, where many videos featuring Winehouse have already reached over 100,000 viewers since yesterday afternoon.
It is always sad to hear when one’s icon has passed away, but in the past five years, the world has lost over 10 of its musical inspirations, an worrisome sign for music-lovers who fear if and/or when their next idol could end up on that frightful breaking news announcement.
Amy WineHouse: The Unexpected Prophesized Death
On Saturday, July 23, 2011, Grammy-winning singer, Amy Winehouse, was found dead in her London home. Sky News Home Affairs correspondent Mark White reported that Winehouse “died of a drug overdose”. However, this seems to not be the only affliction the R&B singer suffered from as, in 2008, a spokesperson for Winehouse confirmed that she had “early signs of what could lead to emphysema.” An autopsy was performed on the singer’s body earlier today.
According to the Huffington Post, Winehouse is one of a “curiously high number of prominent artists to pass away at the age of 27.” Other artists who share this tragedy include Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.
“Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1,” read a statement by the London Metropolitan Police. “On arrival, officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Since having been treated for drug problems since late 2007 – which included admitted heroin use – Winehouse has suffered from her addiction for years and was recently entered back into rehabilitation in May. Earlier that day, Tim Gatt of Sky News tweeted Winehouse’s manager’s statement that canceled all over her upcoming performances. “Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances,” read his statement. “Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen.” However, Winehouse was never to return to the stage, her last surprise appearance on July 20 at the iTunes Festival and she was wobbly on her feet even then.
Though the world is still in shock at her sudden passing, Amy Winehouse’s mother, Janis Winehouse, believed that her death “seemed only a matter of time.” It sounds like a harsh thing to hear from a mother who had just seen her daughter alive the day before her death but for those who have been 100% in the loop about the singer’s medical condition, Janis’ conclusion is harsh but realistic. “She seemed out of it,” Janis told the Daily Mirror. “But her passing so suddenly still hasn’t hit me.”
It is rumored that Winehouse’s death was specifically from a “bad ecstasy pill” but authorities have not yet released the results of the autopsy. One thing is for sure: no matter how successful one’s career appears to be, no one truly knows what’s going on behind closed doors.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s Marriage Foiled by Success
It’s official! Or…officially “not”…whichever works better for you. It’s been announced that Jennifer Lopez and her husband of seven years, Marc Anthony, are filing for a divorce.
In an statement to People magazine, the couple said, “We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.”
Granted, any divorce is difficult, not only on the couple but on the children as well. However, for this all-star it doesn’t make things better that, most likely, their divorce will be dragged through every source of media available to the public for the next month. And that is a loose…an extremely loose…estimate.
Yet, there are reports hinting that the couple’s impending divorce is not all candy and rainbows as they would like everyone to believe. Many of Jennifer’s close friends have leaked that they could tell Jennifer and Marc’s relationship was slowly falling on the rocks. Apparently, they’ve come to this conclusion through Jennifer’s actions, claiming everytime she breaks up in a relationship (for example, with ex-fiancee, Ben Affleck, and Diddy), Jennifer clings to her mother for moral support.
According to an anonymous friend of Jennifer’s, “Whenever she breaks up with a man, she surrounds herself with family. [She] flew her mom in to be by her side.”
Of course, anyone would want unconditional support from thier family in this situation, but others seem to have a more solid opinion: the success of their invidiual careers ultimately drove them apart.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt a renowned powerhouse couple that have been able to sustain their marriage on an agreement: while one is working, theo ther will take time off so they are not always apart on two separate, time-consuming projects located halfway around the world.
“Unfortunantly, knowing both Jen and Marc,” said an industry insider, “I can tell you neither of them is capable of putting thier caeer on hold when a great or big paying opportunity comes along.”
Many times, careers can get in the way of a good marriage between two people as they unconsciously drive each other apart day after day until that vital connection that brought them together is broken and neither know how or are able to repair it.
Success can often come at a price and it looks like Jennifer Lopen and Marc Anthony may be forced to pay up.

It looks like Rihanna’s performances may be a little too hot to be contained. During a live concert last Friday in the American Airlines Theatre in Dallas, TX., Rihanna was forced to immediately end her performance as a fire broke out just above the stage. The fire started in the middle of the Pop icon’s singing of “California King Bed”.
Talk about being too hot for the sheets…
The audience was immediately evacuated from the theatre as sparks began to fall down onto the stage. No audience or crew member has been reported injured and Rihanna expressed her…eh…frustration towards the firey situation immediately after on Twitter:
“DALLAS!! We set the stage on FYAH tonight!!! LITERALLY!!! I’m so pissed, I was havin so much fun wit yall too!!! I gotta come back man!!”
A reappearance date in Dallas has not been set yet, but it’s not hard to guess that people will be eager for Rihanna to bring the party back to Dallas – minus the sparks and flames this time.
